MESAEEID DESERT ADVENTURE

The desert offers a challenging terrain for those seeking adventure in Qatar. Head south to Mesaieed desert where the sand dunes on the eastern coast are known as ‘singing sands’ because of the sounds they produce.

On weekends the desert is drawing hundreds of vehicles all bashing the dunes. Dune bashing is a popular sport to Qataris and even expatriates. A Toyota Land Cruiser or an SUV is commonly used for this sport. There are plenty of ATVs / quad bikes too where tourists try to drive the sand dunes themselves.

If you’re not familiar with the desert, it’s best to hire someone with experience behind the wheel.
